Policies and Procedures

We are excited to have your child bring home books from the Camelot Media Center. Each week your child will visit our Media Center and you can expect to see books coming home on their designated media center day.  If you do not wish to have your child check out books from our media center please email Kristen.brinzo@ocps.net and your child’s teacher to let us know.

Some important things to remember:

  • Students will keep their library books in their backpack when they are not reading them.  This will help keep the books safe, and prevent them from getting lost.
  • Practice proper book care with your child.  When reading a book your hands should always be clean, you should use a bookmark instead of folding over the pages, and slowly turn the pages so as not to rip them.
  • Kindergarten and first grade students will be allowed to check out one book at a time. Second and  third grade students will be allowed to check out two books at a time.  Fourth and fifth graders will be allowed to check out 3 books at a time.
  • Students will not be allowed to check out new books if they have not returned the ones they previously checked out.
  • If a student loses or damages a book they will be expected to pay for that book.  They will not be permitted to check out new books until the fine is paid.
