A Message from Principal Gordon

Celebrating our Teachers and Staff:
Next week, we proudly celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week, generously sponsored by our PTA. While the week includes special treats and surprises, its true purpose is much deeper; recognizing the dedication, care, and countless hours our teachers have poured into our students throughout this school year. Every day, our teachers go above and beyond to create engaging, supportive, and inspiring learning experiences. Please join us in sharing your gratitude and appreciation as we thank our teachers for the incredible impact they make on our school community.

Earth Month Spotlight-Our Composting in Action:
In celebration of Earth Month, we are excited to highlight our school’s successful composting program. During lunch each day, students actively participate by separating food waste for composting, helping reduce what goes into landfills and learning firsthand about environmental responsibility.

Through our partnership with O-Town Composting, our school has composted an impressive 4,897 pounds of food waste, and this has only been since January! Even better, we receive bags of finished compost that are reused in our school garden, bringing the sustainability cycle full circle. This initiative is a wonderful example of students taking meaningful action to care for our planet.

Attached are photos showcasing composting efforts across OCPS, including the powerful impact of this program districtwide. We are proud of our students and staff for leading the way in making a difference.

A Message from Ms. Brinzo

Our students have been working SO hard this year to become amazing readers! We don't want that momentum to slow down over the summer. Access to books over summer breaker helps enhance comprehension, builds vocabulary and helps give students a boost of confidence when they start the new school year. This year we are trying something new with Book Fairs. We will be hosting a Summer Reading Kickoff book fair at the Barnes and Noble at Waterford Lakes. We hope to see you there and buying some books that your children will enjoy over the summer months. If you can't make to the event on 5/8/26 you can shop online using ID 12946646. A portion of the proceeds from the book fair will be returned to our media center. Thanks for you continued support to ensure our students become life long readers!

A Message from Special Area Teachers

From Ms. Hagarty:
Thank you so much to everyone that was able to make it out to our Fine Arts Night this week. It is always so wonderful seeing the kids excited about their artwork.
If you were unable to make it to our Art Show in person, there is still time to view and purchase your student's framed original artwork (and framed reproductions)! The online Art Show ends on Monday, April 27th. These purchases help support the Art Program at Camelot. If you select the "ship to school option" they will be sent to Camelot and I can either leave them in the Sally Port for your convenience or send them home with your student. Share with friends and family and they can purchase framed reproductions of your student's masterpiece!

Fine Arts Night 2026

From creative student artwork to beautiful musical performances, our 2026 Fine Arts Night was a huge success! Every K-5 student had artwork on display and it was so wonderful seeing the creativity of all of our Camelot kiddos! We also had some amazing performances from our Strings, Rising Music Makers, and Royal Music Makers. Our students let their talents shine and showed just how important the arts are in our schools. Congratulations to all!
