A Message from Principal Gordon

Dear Families,

We’re roaring into an unforgettable week at Camelot and we couldn’t be more excited to share what’s ahead! Next week is packed with energy, creativity, and school spirit as we celebrate Rock Your School Week—a time when learning comes alive in bold and imaginative ways.

🦁 October 1st will be “Roar Into Learning” Day, where our classrooms will be transformed to jungle themes. Expect engaging activities, joyful surprises, and a whole lot of fun as we ignite a love for learning in every student.

Throughout the week, we’ll be celebrating with Spirit Week themes that encourage students to express themselves, build community, and embrace the joy of school. Look below for the full lineup of daily themes!

📸 Then, mark your calendars for Picture Day on October 2nd—a chance for students to shine and capture memories that will last all year long.

📘 A quick reminder: First quarter progress reports were sent home last week. This is a valuable time to review your child’s academic journey so far and connect with their teacher. We encourage all families to schedule a Parent-Teacher Conference to collaborate on a personalized plan for success this school year. Together, we can build a strong foundation for growth and achievement.

We can’t wait to see our halls filled with enthusiasm, creativity, and the smiling faces of our incredible students. Let’s make this week one to remember!

Teach-In
Be a Teacher for a Day
American Education Week
Teach-In Week:
November 17-21, 2025

Each November, in celebration of American Education Week, the Foundation brings business and civic leaders into the classrooms - in a fun and engaging way - to talk with students about academics, careers and the future.
Volunteers can read books to elementary students while others involve entire middle school classes in projects like a mock election. Some give demonstrations using musical instruments, scientific equipment or teach practical, personal skills to high school students such as managing a checking account and using credit cards wisely.

You can read a book; share an educational experience; give students a window into your career; or talk about a favorite vacation, hobby, or even a special teacher who touched your life. Whatever your skills, no matter your topic, there is a classroom of students waiting to hear from you! Please reach out to your child's teacher if you are interested in participating.

Did you know our media center is open before school? Students are invited in to play games or check out books. Encourage your child to attend on their designated day!
Fall Picture Day is October 2nd

A Message from Ms. Parris

Morphology is the study of how words are built and how their meaningful parts, called morphemes, can change their meaning. Just like building with LEGO bricks, a child learns that by putting different pieces together, they can create new words and understand unfamiliar ones. This knowledge is critical for developing strong reading and spelling skills. I wanted to share an activity that you can play at home with your child for extra practice.

Check out this YouTube video on how to play an activity to help support morphology practice.

I am excited to introduce you to Xello, an online college and career readiness program that helps students explore their interests, set goals, and plan for the future.

Xello is designed to grow with your student, providing a personalized pathway that supports them not only now, but also in the years ahead. Whether your students' future plans include college. career training, or another pathway, Xello equips them with tools and lessons to help them prepare for success.

How Xello can assist your child:

  • Provides career and college exploration opportunities tailored to their goals.
  • Guides them in building future-ready skills through engaging lessons.
  • Allows parents and teachers to support and monitor progress along the way.
How can you use Xello at home:
Xello isn't just for the classroom, it can be accessed from any device with internet access. At home, you can:
  • Sit with your child to explore career and college options together.
  • Review their completed lessons and see what goals they're setting.
  • Encourage conversations about their interests, skills, and possible future pathways.
  • Support them in updating their progress throughout the school year.
I have also provided links below for you to explore more about Xello and how it benefits students and families.
